The Reason Behind Walking Barefoot

Ram Charan is presently observing Ayyappa Deeksha, which is a sacred spiritual vow taken by devotees of Lord Ayyappa prior to visiting the famous Sabarimala Temple. This spiritual vow is considered a period of discipline. Devotees have to follow strict discipline and adopt a simple style of living. Ayyappa Deeksha normally continues for 41 or 48 days.

Rules Followed During Ayyappa Deeksha

During this period, devotees wear simple clothes, usually in black, blue, or saffron colours. Many also choose to walk barefoot as a symbol of humility and devotion. They must follow a strict vegetarian diet and avoid alcohol or luxurious lifestyles.

Daily prayers and meditation are also an important part of the practice. Devotees also maintain celibacy during the period and usually avoid cutting their hair or shaving their beard. The purpose of these rules is to maintain discipline and stay focused on spiritual growth.
