Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, who is making headlines currently due to his recent release film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, recently shared his views on the challenges that come with fame and the importance of staying genuine. During a conversation, the actor reflected on how social media has changed celebrity culture and why maintaining a real identity is more important than creating a perfect public image. While discussing the topic, he also spoke about Salman Khan and his often-discussed late-night social media activity.
Varun Dhawan Spoke On Salman Khan’s Online Presence

Speaking to Bombay Times, Varun said that Salman Khan’s social media posts appear to reflect his true personality rather than a carefully planned image. Referring to the superstar’s late-night updates, Varun remarked, “When I see Salman bhai's posts at night, he's going into another zone only.”
According to him, such posts show a person expressing himself naturally without worrying too much about public opinion.
‘Actors’ Lives Are Very Lonely’: Varun Dhawan
During the discussion, Varun also highlighted the emotional side of the entertainment industry. He said, “Actors' lives are very lonely. Ninety percent of actors are very lonely.”
The actor explained that constant public attention can often make people feel isolated, which is why staying connected to one’s real self becomes even more important.
Varun Stressed On Importance of Being Yourself
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai actor Varun stressed that authenticity matters more than trying to fit into expectations created by others. He said, “You've got to be yourself, whether that's good or bad, but at least you'll be yourself. Otherwise, you won't even realise what you've become.”

The actor added that social media has made celebrities increasingly conscious of how they are perceived. However, he believes there is little value in constantly worrying about criticism or public judgment.

Varun recalled that since making his debut with Student of the Year, directed by Karan Johar, he has avoided creating a false public image. On the professional front, Varun's recently released film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur is making headlines. The film was directed by Varun Dhawan's father David Dhawan and produced by Ramesh Taurani.
