- Iran warns US against military confrontation after Trump's threat.
- Araghchi accuses Netanyahu of pushing US into another war.
- Iran keeps Strait of Hormuz reopening proposal on table.
Iran has responded strongly to US President Donald Trump’s latest warning that Washington could “finish the job” against Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday warned the US against another military confrontation while keeping Iran’s offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days on the table. The statements of both the leaders come as the conflict is in its eighth month now.
Iran Warns Of Response
In a post on X, Araghchi hit back at Trump’s threat, recalling the previous conflict and warning Washington not to underestimate Iran’s strength. “Last time you wanted to ‘finish the job’, Iran emerged even stronger. Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful, we have unfinished jobs too,” Araghchi said.
He also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of pushing the United States towards another war to protect his political future in the same post. Araghchi warned that such a move could have serious consequences for Israel and Trump himself. “Netanyahu is driving America into another war to stay out of jail, whatever the consequences for Israel-let alone POTUS,” the post added.

Trump Backs Netanyahu, Warns Iran
Araghchi’s remarks came after Trump publicly backed Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 parliamentary election. In a message addressed to the “Great People of Israel” on Truth Social, Trump praised Netanyahu’s leadership and his role in confronting Iran. In the same post, Trump also claimed that Iran had been weakened militarily and financially.
Warning Tehran, he said the US would “soon finish the job”. He also urged Israeli voters not to choose another leader, saying Washington might have to act itself if Israel selected the “wrong Leader”. “It would have been only a question of time until Iran would have put that ominous phrase into effect, but they have been systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially, and unless they change their ways, rapidly, we will soon finish the job,” Trump wrote.
Iran Keeps Hormuz Opening Offer On Table
Despite the sharp exchange, Iran has kept its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days on the table. Araghchi said Tehran was reviewing Washington’s response but questioned whether the US was serious about reaching an agreement.
“Our situation is clear and based on the seven-days proposal presented to the US. They shared comments which we are reviewing, but our proposal is still on the table and if there is any honesty on the US part, which there isn't, the way to reopening the Strait of Hormuz is obvious,” Araghchi said as quoted by Reuters.
Iran had presented the proposal in mid-September after an interim ceasefire collapsed. However, talks have stalled over Tehran’s seven conditions, including disagreements over when Iran’s nuclear programme should be discussed.
