All-Natural Facial:  Recently, while scrolling through social media, I many times came across facial steps that involve only kitchen staple ingredients, which made it convenient, quick, affordable and hassle-free. First, I was sceptical, but I needed something quick, gentle, and made from ingredients I already had in my kitchen. The result was temporarily brighter skin, softer texture, and that hydrated glow.

Here, I’ll walk you through exactly what I used, how I applied each step, and a few gentle disclaimers. Always patch-test new ingredients and avoid anything that stings or causes irritation for a happy skincare session.

1. Raw Milk Cleansing

First, I used raw milk as my mild cleanser. Milk naturally contains lactic acid, which helps gently exfoliate, and fats leave the skin feeling soft. So, knowing these properties, I soaked a cotton pad in raw milk and applied it across my face, and wiped my face with it, paying extra attention to my T-zone and areas with visible dullness.

The milk helps in getting rid of surface oil without stripping my skin. Afterwards, I rinsed my face with lukewarm water. If you have sensitive or very acne-prone skin, use pasteurised milk or stop if you notice redness.

2. Homemade Scrub With Rice Flour And Raw Milk

The next step was exfoliation. I made a quick scrub using a tablespoon of rice flour with raw milk to make a thick paste. The rice flour exfoliates mechanically while the lactic acid in the milk acts as a chemical exfoliant, creating a gentle scrub.

I applied the natural scrub all over my face, massaged it in circular motions for about 60 seconds, focusing on my nose and chin, where i have most blackheads and whiteheads. Also, always scrub gently. Then lastly, I rinsed my face thoroughly with cool water and pat-dried my face.

3. Homemade Face Mask: Tomato-Potato With Lemon, Plus Besan And Coffee

For the mask, I blended a small tomato wedge and a thin slice of boiled potato to form a smooth pulp. I added 2 to 3 drops of fresh lemon juice (optional, only if your skin tolerates it), then folded in a teaspoon of besan (gram flour) and half a teaspoon of finely ground coffee. The tomato brightened and provided vitamin C, the potato added soothing starch and lightening enzymes, besan helped bind and absorb excess oil, and coffee gave a gentle anti-inflammatory and antioxidant kick.

I applied this mixture evenly, avoiding the delicate under-eye area. After 10 to 12 minutes (no longer than 15), I rinsed off with lukewarm water using soft circular motions to buff away the mask. If you have very sensitive or reactive skin, skip the lemon and coffee.

4. Massaging Gel: Aloe Vera With Vitamin E Capsule

As the final step of the facial, I applied a gentle massaging gel consisting of freshly extracted aloe vera gel along with the contents of a single capsule of vitamin E. Aloe vera gel will act as an anti-inflammatory agent as well as a moisturiser, giving your skin a plump appearance, whereas vitamin E will help in repairing the protective layer of the skin and give a silky smooth texture. Warm up a little bit of massaging gel in your hands and then massage on your skin with upward strokes for 1-2 minutes.

The results were nothing out of the blue, but my skin did feel bright and cleansed. The result was due to the layered approach, which included cleansing, exfoliating, a mask, and then a massage, all of which gave my skin an immediate surface-level glow and smoother texture that felt fresh.

  • Always do a patch test before trying anything new on your skin to keep yourself safe from allergies. Also, discontinue and wipe your skin as soon as you feel discomfort or redness around the home remedy.
