Overall picture

In Maharashtra and Karnataka, the BJP-led NDA has made advancements of one seat each, clinching Congress-led constituencies. Congress has managed to win only one seat in Nagpur while it lost the 3 seats it held across three states.

In Bihar, the BJP has suffered strategic losses as it lost the Patna Teachers seat to RJD this time, ending its 30 years of dominance. Besides, it also failed to win the Saran Teacher seat. The independent candidate who won the seat had sought a ticket from the saffron party but was denied and ousted after he filed a nomination as an independent.
