While the exact reason behind the incident is not known yet, a probe is being held, they confirmed.

The other two injured workers are currently being treated. As per DCP (Outer) Vikram Singh, the factory owner has been summoned and the contractors are also being questioned for more details. "The cause of the fire is being investigated. The blaze originated in the basement, after which the fire and smoke spread upwards—there was a significant amount of smoke," Singh told reporters.

Factory Owner Summoned

"The factory owner has been summoned, and we are also questioning the contractor and workers to determine the total number of labourers present," he added. Apart from this, fire officer ADO Paras Kumar stated that the rescue operation was delayed due to the thick smoke. He further stated that while one person was rescued from the third-floor staircase, five others were rescued from the fourth floor.

"Due to the heavy smoke, we recovered one person from the third-floor staircase and rescued five others from the fourth floor. The fire has been completely extinguished, and the cooling-down process is currently underway," Kumar told reporters.
