Namit Malhotra's Ramayana is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, among others. Amid strong buzz post its teaser launch, it is reported that Namit Malhotra is busy locking an OTT release deal. According to Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed that Namit was offered Rs 700 crore for both films combined, but he quickly turned it down, considering the scale and investment involved in their production.

The source further added, "He is expecting a Rs 1,000 crore deal from OTT players, leaving Rs 3,000 crore to be recovered from other sources, including global theatrical."

So far, Namit is reportedly look for OTT platforms with higher offer. The source said, "It’s a film that gives all platforms global reach. And Rs 1,000 crore for two films put together is a rather good price given the potential. He is holding the rights close to his chest and will partner with the right player at the right price. There’s a possibility for him to sell just Part 1 now and hold back Part 2 till the release of Part 1, a strategy that team Dhurandhar The Revenge opted for."

Ramayana Teaser

The teaser of Ramayana captures the transition of Rama from a regal prince adorned in gold to a warrior. A pivotal scene depicts Ranbir Kapoor as Rama effortlessly lifting and stringing the divine Pinaka bow of Lord Shiva, a feat that had defeated all other kings. A major emotional beat shows a sequence where Rama, now in simple ascetic attire, touches the feet of King Dasharatha (Arun Govil) before heading into a 14-year exile with Sita and Lakshman.

Ramayana: Part 1 features a stellar ensemble with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, with music by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman. The film follows Rama’s journey leading to a grand cosmic conflict, with Part 1 releasing globally on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
