Abhishek Bachchan, who usually keeps his personal life private, recently shared insights into parenting his daughter Aaradhya Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during a chat with Lilly Singh. He revealed that they don’t follow fixed parenting roles, emphasizing that both he and Aishwarya are equally capable of guiding and teaching their daughter.
In a recent chat with Lilly Singh, Abhishek Bachchan said, "In my home, as parents, both of us try to be the best example for Aaradhya instead of telling her what is right and what is wrong. We believe in showing what to do by being that ourselves. It’s never been like, ‘Okay, I’ll teach her self-defence.’ If you’ve seen my wife, she can take care of herself. It’s never been divided like, ‘I’ll teach her self-defence, you teach her to be empathetic.’ No, it’s not that."
He added that parenting is about leading a responsible life with strong values, as children naturally learn by observing. He emphasized that there is no gender-based role at home and both parents believe in setting examples rather than imposing right or wrong, acknowledging that values can differ across generations.

He also recalled an incident, sharing that while they were watching TV during Aaradhya’s childhood, he joked about being 'tortured' by Peppa Pig and mentioned how kids tend to get completely absorbed, almost like zombies, when watching something. "I said, ‘Aaradhya, can you just get Papa a glass of water?’ She looked at me like, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Can you give me a glass of water?’ She said, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘Because I asked you to.’ It’s normal, right? I’m the dad, get me a glass of water. She got up, went and got me a glass of water very sweetly. I said, ‘Thank you,’ gave her a kiss and she sat down," he continued.

He further shared that Aaradhya once questioned why she couldn’t ask him for water if he could ask her, leaving him without an answer. Abhishek admitted she was right, and said the moment made him realize her logic, after which he never argued with her over such things.
