Kaantha OTT Release: The wait is over. Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited Tamil period drama has finally made its digital debut. The film was released in cinemas on November 14 and impressed audiences with its cast performances and storyline, but it didn't perform well at the box office as expected. Following its theatrical run, the Kaantha sparked buzz about its OTT release. Now, the film is streaming on an OTT giant. Set in 1950s Madras, an era when the Tamil film industry was booming with new stars and fresh scandals, the story explores the price of stardom, personal struggles and various other elements. This Tamil movie is jointly produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati. Read on to find out where Kaantha is available for streaming and in which languages.

Kaantha OTT Release Date And Time

Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha began streaming on Netflix from December 12 at 12 AM (midnight). The Dulquer Salmaan starrer is available for streaming across the country, and audiences can enjoy the film in Tamil (original), Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. Kaantha Plot And Cast

Set in 1950s Madras, Kaantha follows the story of TK Mahadevan, a rising superstar, played by Dulquer Salmaan. The film also stars Samuthirakani as a director named Ayya, Rana Daggubati as an inspector and Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. The story explores ego, revenge, and emotional conflict between mentor and mentee, portrayed by Dulquer and Samuthirakani. Besides the main cast, Kaantha also features Ravindra Vijay, Gayathrie Shankar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Bagavathi Perumal, Tamizhselvi and many others in key roles.

Selvamani Selvara's direction is backed by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, along with Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese under the banners Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media.

According to several reports, Kaantha has been made on an approximately Rs 40 crore budget.

Kaantha Box Office Collection Report

Released in November 2025, Dulquer Salmaan's film Kaantha concluded its theatrical run with a collection of Rs 22.79 crore in India and Rs 35.36 crore worldwide. It earned Rs 8.45 crore in the overseas market, according to Sacnilk report. However, the film Kaantha failed to cross its budget mark and underperformed at the box office. With its OTT release, the makers hope to reach a wider audience.
