Following the massive success of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, filmmaker Aditya Dhar is now reportedly exploring his next big project. While no official announcement has been made yet, reports suggest he is currently considering three ideas—The Immortal Ashwatthama, a historical epic and a large-scale sports drama—with one of them likely to be his next directorial venture.

According to a report in Variety India, "The Immortal Ashwatthama remains a dream project for Aditya and he is trying to work on it and revive it."

The portal quoted a source saying, "He spent a lot of time and effort developing that high-tech mythological epic before it was shelved for being too expensive. Now that Aditya has proved himself as a bankable director and studios are more willing to back his ambitious vision, he might look at reviving it. Whether he picks that up or not is entirely his call, but that’s one project that’s still on his table."

The source further shared that Aditya Dhar is weighing a historical epic set in the era of Chandragupta Maurya, with early conversations reportedly held with Ranveer Singh. The project, however, is currently on hold as the team allows the Dhurandhar momentum to settle. Described as a relatively untapped space, the film could offer a rich mix of scale, drama and intrigue, positioning it as a strong alternative if The Immortal Ashwatthama doesn’t move forward.

"Aditya is not going into another film immediately after Dhurandhar 2. He will take a break; he deserves that after spending three extensive years on one film. It’s too early to say which project he eventually takes up, but what’s certain is that his next film will be much bigger in scale and ambition," the source went on to state.
