'What’s Not To Fall In Love With?' Pooja Bhatt Opens Up On Her Relationship With Bobby Deol, Calls Him 'Magical'

Bobby Deol’s marriage to Tanya Deol has long been seen as one of Bollywood’s most stable love stories. But before that, the actor shared a special bond with Pooja Bhatt. In a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, Pooja fondly recalled her relationship with Bobby, calling him a 'magical human being' and describing that phase as one of the most memorable times of her life.

Talking about her early career, Pooja revealed that after Daddy, she was not very interested in mainstream cinema. She also shared that her boyfriend at the time was not supportive of her acting career.

When asked if she was referring to Bobby Deol, Pooja clarified that she met him later. However, when questioned about being in love with him, she smiled and said, "Of course. What’s not to fall in love with?" Pooja shared, "It was a magical time of my life, and he was a magical human being to be with."

Pooja shared that she and Bobby eventually 'grew in different directions', but chose not to discuss the reasons behind their breakup. She said revisiting a past relationship publicly would be distasteful, especially now that Bobby is happily married and enjoying a successful phase in his career.

Pooja Bhatt said, "I don’t think it is in good taste to sit down today and talk about why my relationship with him ended or was… It was. We never denied it. He is a married man today, father of grown-up children, has a wonderful new surge in his career. I loved him in Animal. For me, he made the film. I’m so happy for him."

She said, "The time I have spent with somebody… By getting into the why it didn’t work or… It worked till it didn’t work. That’s it. Dignity and grace for the present, for not only your own life but for the people who have been in your life, and the people who they have in their life, is a very important thing to maintain."

Bobby Deol went on to marry Tanya Deol in 1996, and over the years, the couple has built a close-knit family together. Pooja Bhatt, meanwhile, married businessman Manish Makhija in 2003. The couple shared over a decade together before eventually deciding to part ways.
