Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar changed the course of the Hindi film industry. The actor's professional path was also changed by the popular action thriller, which solidified his status as one of the nation's most lucrative celebrities. In a recent conversation, the actor's father-in-law and former badminton player Prakash Padukone acknowledged that there was 'too much violence' in the movie.

Ranveer Singh's father-in-law described Dhurandhar as a well-made movie that has generally connected with viewers, despite some concerns about its violent nature.

Speaking with the Indian Express, he said, "It's a great film. It's a very well-made film with good acting by everybody. We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that's more important."

Prakash Padukone's Relationship With Son-In-Law Ranveer Singh

Prakash Padukone went on to discuss his relationship with his son-in-law and the annual family vacation. Although many might think that Prakash and Ranveer don't have much in common, the former disclosed that sports are their shared language. While Prakash likes to learn about the film industry from Ranveer, the actor enjoys talking to him about cricket and football.

"We do spend a lot of time together. In fact, both families are very close. At least once a year, we go on vacation together. There are a lot of common interests, as he’s very interested in sports. He keeps talking to me about sports, and I keep asking him about movies as I want to learn about the business."

Ranveer Singh's father-in-law added, "We don’t get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy, whether it’s football or cricket. He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests."

About The Dhurandhar Movie

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, became one of the biggest hits in recent memory. The spy thriller made over Rs 1,800 crore at the box office, making it the second highest-grossing Indian movie ever, only behind Aamir Khan's Dangal.

Dhurandhar first part was released in theatres on December 5, 2025, while the sequel hit the big screens on March 19, 2026. Apart from Singh, it also starred Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles.

Ranveer Singh's Upcoming Movies

Ranveer Singh is reportedly now working on the forthcoming zombie movie Pralay. The movie, which is purportedly being made on an incredible Rs 300 crore budget, is being directed by Jai Mehta, the son of renowned director Hansal Mehta.

Additionally, Ranveer Singh was supposed to star in Don 3, which was backed by Farhan Akhtar. Nevertheless, the star left the movie, costing the production company Rs 45 crore.

He received a non-cooperation directive from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees due to his abrupt departure from the highly anticipated movie Don 3. The Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPAA) is now anticipated to investigate the controversy.
