Medha Shankr Reveals Designers Refused To Give Her Clothes: 'Felt Absurd...'

Medha Shankar recently talked about her 'humiliating' experience in the industry, ahead of her next movie, Ginny Wedss Sunny 2. Even while she acknowledged that she had occasionally felt diminished in other professional settings, such as gatherings and encounters with designers. The 12th Fail actor stated that she had not encountered such moments on set. Medha Shankar clarified that while she understands it is part of professional protocols, it still, at times, feels unusual and uncomfortable.

Medha Shankr, who gained significant recognition for her performance in 12th Fail, talked about her interactions with designers. In an exclusive interview with Siddharth Kannan, she stated that these events frequently make one wonder about the unwritten norms of the industry without harbouring any personal grudges.

Medha Shankr said, "At events, with designers, you know small things like 'this designer will not give this outfit to you', we all hear that. Of course, it doesn’t matter to me, but I do remember your names… Not that it’s personal, but you do feel, 'What just happened here?' So definitely, there I have felt a little absurd."

Avinash Tiwary: 'Not Here Because Of Anyone's Favour'

Avinash Tiwary offered a more comprehensive analysis of how privilege and power structures frequently function both inside and outside of the industry, in response to Medha's remarks. Avinash Tiwary said he really respects those who choose not to be coerced or dominated by such dynamics, but he acknowledged that people in positions of power occasionally expect things to go their way.

He said, "Whatever games are being played, we are not here because of anyone’s favour. She is also not here because of anyone’s favour. Everyone is here because of their own talent, so there is no need to fear or overthink so much."
