Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of 2026. The mythological epic starring Ranbir Kapoor began to spark buzz on social media after its teaser was unveiled on Thursday. Some claimed that the visual effects appeared fake, and some even claimed that certain elements appeared to be AI-generated. In one of the scenes, a man's turban seemed to change from blue to purple in a matter of seconds, confusing viewers and sparking concerns about whether he was AI. Was he, though?

Actor Saket Patel, who appeared in the scene, responded in a video message when the rumours around the Ramayana teaser intensified. He emphasised that real people and useful sets were used in the filming of the scene.

"I'm Saket Patel. I am an actor, and believe me, I'm not AI. People are fully convinced that I'm AI-generated. I shot for this two years ago with real crowd, real set, real me and real Ranbir Kapoor in front of me. Dismissing the allegations, he stated, "In 2026, if something looks too nice, people call it fake."

The video quickly went viral on social media platforms. Many agreed with the actor's point of view. A user wrote, "Broo, I feel so baad for you. These people are so braindead. Banda saamne se ake bol raha hai nahi AI nahi mai team se hoon. And the replies are nahi tujhe nahi pata hume pata hai hua hai." Another user said, "Firstly, we appreciate you and hope you continue on to being part of films! Don't be discouraged by people dismissing your work as AI."

However, many argued against the actor's claims and responded, "It can be AI-enhanced at post production, it doesn't have to be fully AI-generated. There has been some enhancement using Ai that's why the color shifts, because that won't happen in grading." Another user wrote, "It is possible to take a real person's pic and then create AI videos of him or her. So what exactly are you trying to prove?"

Ramyana Budget

The reported budget for the production of Ramayana was Rs 4,000 crore. Producer Namit Malhotra told Prakhar Gupta that many were first shocked by the project's scope. Additionally, the movie is the first time that Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman have worked together. The cast of the massive show includes Sunny Deol, Yash, Ravi Dubey, and Sai Pallavi.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram and Pashuram in Ramayana, while Yash plays Ravana, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The first portion of Namit Malhotra's Ramayana will be released in theatres on Diwali 2026, while the second part will follow on Diwali 2027.
