Comedian Samay Raina had to remove all episodes of India’s Got Latent after the show sparked controversy and backlash online. While fans were disappointed, Samay later announced a second season, and has now shared another exciting update about the show’s return.

On Thursday, Samay Raina announced on Instagram that he was bringing back his favourite chess tournament “for old times’ sake.” While fans flooded his DMs asking for an update on India’s Got Latent Season 2, Samay responded with humour by sharing a meme from his special Still Alive before finally teasing a major update.

Sharing a BTS photo from India’s Got Latent Season 2, Samay Raina confirmed that the show’s shoot is underway. The picture featured Samay with comedian Balraj Ghai, while the rest of the panel members were intentionally hidden to maintain suspense. Comedian Aashish Solanki also appeared to be partially visible in the frame.

Earlier, a leaked photo from the alleged sets of the new season had gone viral online. The image showed Alia Bhatt and Sharvari seated on the panel alongside Balraj Singh Ghai and Aashish Solanki, sparking rumours about their appearance on the show. However, no official confirmation has been made yet.

In February 2025, Ranveer Allahbadia appeared on India’s Got Latent with Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija. His controversial remarks during the episode sparked massive outrage online, leading to multiple FIRs against Ranveer, Samay Raina and the show. Apoorva also faced rape and death threats, while Ranveer was temporarily restricted from uploading podcasts. Following the backlash, Samay removed all episodes from YouTube.

More recently, Samay and Ranveer reunited on The Great Indian Kapil Show for a World Laughter Day special, where Navjot Singh Sidhu praised Samay and called him the future of comedy.
