Ever listened to true crime podcasts? If not, I would highly recommend you to start listening to them, but only at your own risk as they are highly addictive. It's truly understandable that watching and listening are two different things and both need different kinds of brainpower. When you watch a web series, actors, makers and the entire production team create a visual world right in front of your eyes, which makes it much easier to decode the case. But, when it comes to listening a podcast, it needs a higher level of concentration as your mind has to do heavy-lifting to paint the picture in real world. But, trust me that is what makes the latter much more thrilling and interesting at the same time.

In the beginning, the narrative canvas is completely blank. Every piece of evidence is a revelation, every audio clip of a frantic 911 call sends a genuine chill down your spine. So, after listening to over 500 hours of dark crime podcasts, I have curated a list of five of my most-favourite ones that feel like binge-watching a crime series.

5 True Crime Podcasts That Feel Like Binge-Watching A Crime Series

Listen to Tandoor Murder Case on The Desi Crime Podcast

The case revolves around a former pilot and Youth Congress worker, Naina Sahni, and her secret husband, Sushil Sharma (an influential Youth Congress politician). When you listen to this case on podcasts like The Desi Crime Podcast, the hosts emphasize the stark contrast between the mundane comfort of an Indian restaurant staple—the tandoor—and the ultimate depravity of the crime. Packed with political corruption, forensic breakthroughs, and a midnight chase through the streets of Delhi, it delivers the exact narrative tension of a multi-part thriller series.
