Ranbir Kapoor recently shared a heartwarming story about his daughter Raha Kapoor and her reaction to his upcoming film Ramayana. The actor opened up about how fatherhood has influenced his journey while playing Lord Rama. He also revealed that he had initially refused the role but later changed his decision after a major shift in his personal life.

During a recent interaction with AP (Associated Press), Ranbir spoke about how his young daughter connects with the epic story. He shared that Raha often asks innocent and curious questions while he is working on the film.
The actor said, “I was extremely blessed to have this opportunity. On one side, I am going to work and play Lord Rama, but I am also going home and telling my daughter, Raha, stories about Ramayana.”
He added that his three-year-old often asks, “Did you shoot with Lord Hanuman today? Or Sita today? What did you do today?” Ranbir further said, “She has so much interest in this story; the love and interest come very naturally to us.”

A Role That Became Personal

Ranbir mentioned that playing Lord Rama became more meaningful as it coincided with his journey into fatherhood. Narrating stories from the epic to his daughter helped him understand the character on a deeper level. He described this phase as emotional and fulfilling, as both his personal and professional lives connected uniquely.

Interestingly, Ranbir revealed that he had first declined the role at a Los Angeles event during the film's first teaser release. He felt unsure about taking on such a powerful and respected character and believed he was not ready. However, things changed over time. The birth of his daughter gave him a new outlook, and he began to see the opportunity differently.

Ramayana Release Date, Director, Cast, and Teaser
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most expensive and ambitious Indian film projects. As per a statement by the film’s producer, Namit Malhotra, the budget for this movie is $500 million, which is approximately Rs 4000 Crore.
Ramayana features a large ensemble cast including Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet as Surpanakha and many others.
The film's first teaser was released on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2nd, which unveiled the look of Ranbir’s first glimpse as Lord Rama. Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first expected in October 2026 and the second in 2027.
