Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11, 2026, following reports that the legendary singer had suffered a cardiac arrest. The news quickly raised concern among fans and the film fraternity alike. However, offering some clarity on the situation, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle took to Instagram to share an official update, addressing the circulating reports and providing insight into the veteran singer’s current condition.
She shared a photo featuring herself and the legendary singer on her Instagram handle and wrote, "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively.'"

Asha Bhosle is regarded as one of the most celebrated and versatile voices in Indian music, with a remarkable career spanning over seven decades and thousands of songs across languages and genres.
She has showcased her extraordinary versatility by singing in over 20 Indian and international languages. In 2006, she revealed that she had recorded around 12,000 songs, reflecting the sheer scale of her contribution to music. Over the years, she has collaborated with some of the most celebrated composers in Indian cinema, including Shankar-Jaikishan, Sachin Dev Burman, R. D. Burman, O. P. Nayyar, Ilaiyaraaja, Bappi Lahiri and A. R. Rahman.
