Indian and Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh became a target of criticism after his dismal performance in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League.

The Ludhiana Lions captain struggled against the Fazilka Falcons on Sunday, giving away 51 runs in his four overs while failing to take any wickets.

The match turned out to be a nail-biting finish, with Fazilka Falcons winning by one run. They scored 170/9 in their 20 overs, while Ludhiana Lions finished at 169/7 in their chase.

The young fast bowler is known for his ability to bowl quickly as well as a penchant for taking wickets. But this time it turned out to be a poor day in the office for him.

Arshdeep struggled to contain the Fazilka batters throughout his spell. The India pacer conceded 51 runs in four overs and also bowled three wides and a no-ball, making his outing particularly costly for the Lions.

The Fazilka innings was powered by contributions from their middle order, while Shubman Gill also made his Sher-E-Punjab T20 League debut for the Falcons.

Gill scored 40 from just 21 balls, striking seven fours and a six at a strike rate of 190.48. Singh looked devastated by his bowling figures as he tried to fight back.

Late Fightback Falls Short

Faced with a target of 171, Ludhiana Lions fought their way to the last over in the chase. The Lions were losing wickets at regular intervals but were able to extend the game to the last over before being outdone by the Falcons.

The Falcons, however, had the presence of mind to win by just a run. Ludhiana managed to score 169/7 in the end and regretted not taking advantage of the chances that were offered by the Falcons.

The overs bowled by Arshdeep Singh did not take long to make it to social media, as fans criticized his inability in the domestic T20 affair.

A bowler like Arshdeep is expected to deliver brilliant overs, and such a performance raised eyebrows. Videos were shared across platforms highlighting the performances of the bowler being questioned.
