ICC Rankings: Abhishek Sharma Overtakes Pakistan Batter, Jasprit Bumrah Breaks into T20I Top 10

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has moved up to second place in the latest ICC Men's T20I batting rankings after his impressive performances against Afghanistan.

The left-handed batter scored 82 off just 32 balls in the first T20I in New Delhi before making 39 off 19 balls in the second match. His performances helped him overtake Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan and move closer to the top spot.

Abhishek Eyes No. 1 Spot, Ishan Kishan Still on Top

Abhishek now has 862 rating points, while Ishan Kishan continues to lead the rankings with 913 points. Farhan has slipped to third place with 848 points.

This means India now have the top two batters in the ICC T20I rankings. Abhishek's recent performances have further strengthened his position in the Indian T20I setup.

India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against Afghanistan after winning both games by seven wickets.

Sanju Samson also made progress in the latest rankings. After hitting 57 off 22 balls in the second T20I, the wicketkeeper-batter climbed four places to reach 30th position.

Bumrah Returns to T20I Top 10 After Seven-Place Jump

Jasprit Bumrah has also made significant progress in the latest ICC T20I bowling rankings. The Indian pacer picked up two wickets across the first two matches against Afghanistan in New Delhi. His performances helped him climb seven places to 10th position with 650 rating points.

However, Bumrah dropped one place in the Test bowling rankings and is now fourth. England's Ollie Robinson moved up one place to overtake him.

Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh Make Gains

Varun Chakravarthy has moved up two places to fifth in the T20I bowling rankings. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan continues to hold the top position, followed by Abrar Ahmed, Adil Rashid and Adam Zampa.

Arshdeep Singh has also made progress after taking five wickets in the first two matches of the Afghanistan series. The left-arm pacer climbed 11 places to 14th in the rankings. Axar Patel, meanwhile, jumped six places to reach 27th position.

Buttler Moves Up, Tilak Varma Slips

England batter Jos Buttler has moved up one place to seventh in the T20I batting rankings after scoring 80 runs in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. India's vice-captain Tilak Varma, on the other hand, dropped one place and is now eighth.

Babar Azam and Nathan Ellis Also Gain Ground

In the Test batting rankings, Pakistan batters Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel moved up two places each. Former Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood climbed four places.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Australia's Nathan Ellis made a major jump of 20 places to reach 20th position. He took a five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in the first ODI, helping Australia secure victory.
