Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell Take Indian Bowlers Apart
New Zealand had lost Tim Seifert and Daryl Mitchell to Mayank Yadav, but Phillips kept the innings moving with a 59-run stand alongside Finn Allen. Allen’s dismissal, followed by Bevon Jacobs’ departure, briefly gave India an opening at 112 for 4.
However, Phillips and Bracewell quickly took control. Phillips went after Prince Yadav, collecting a six and two boundaries in one over before launching a fierce assault on Nitish Kumar Reddy.
The New Zealand batter smashed four consecutive sixes in the 16th over, taking 32 runs off Reddy’s over. He had earlier reached his half-century in 31 balls and went on to bring up his third T20I hundred in just 46 deliveries. His second fifty came off only 15 balls.

Bracewell was just as aggressive at the other end. He took Axar Patel for three boundaries and a six in one over, reaching his half-century in only 18 balls. He eventually fell to Prince Yadav after scoring 65.
New Zealand Add 85 Runs In Final Five Overs
Mayank Yadav was India’s most effective bowler, using his pace to trouble the New Zealand batters. However, Bracewell also managed to turn his speed into scoring opportunities, hitting two successive sixes.
Phillips was eventually dismissed by Reddy after completing his century, but New Zealand had already put themselves in a commanding position. The hosts scored 85 runs in the final five overs to finish on 259 for 7 and set India a daunting target.
