Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended warm congratulations to US President Donald Trump and the people of the US on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of American Independence. In his message, he highlighted the strong India-US partnership and said both nations share common values of democracy.

He said the message was on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians and emphasised that India and the US share a strong partnership built on their common belief in the rule of law and the limitless potential of their people. He added that these shared values make the relationship a “force for global good.”

"On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Trump and the people of the United States on the historic 250th anniversary of your Independence. India and the United States share more than a strategic partnership. Our shared belief in democracy, rule of law and the limitless potential of our people make our friendship a force for global good," PM Modi wrote on X.

He also expressed hope for the future, saying the next 250 years should bring even greater prosperity, peace, and progress for the US, while taking the partnership betweent the two countries to new heights. PM Modi added, "May the next 250 years bring even greater prosperity, peace and progress for America and take the India-US partnership to new heights. @POTUS @realDonaldTrump."

US Entering Golden Age, Says Trump

Meanwhile, 250th Independence day celebrations are underway in the US. Addressing the country on Friday, Trump said the country has entered a new "golden age." He claimed the country is witnessing record investments, a revival in manufacturing, and growing global confidence in the American economy.

Speaking at Mount Rushmore, Trump said, “Our country today is doing better than it's ever done before. Never had anything like it..With as of last week, USD 19.2 trillion pouring into the United States right now from all over the world." He added, “This is not an ending. This is only the beginning of the golden age of America. And together we will make America bigger, better, and stronger than ever before."
