Amid US President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran’s military has been severely weakened, Tehran showcased its powerful missile systems in a large military parade. Thousands of people gathered in the capital city this week to watch the parade. The event comes at a time when tensions between the United States and Iran remain high, even though a temporary ceasefire is currently in place.
Iran Shows Military Strength In Major Parade
Videos of the parade have surfaced online, with the display seen as a show of strength and Iran's military capabilities. According to reports, the parade featured long-range missiles, including what appeared to be the Qadr missile, moving through the streets near Revolution Square. As the vehicle carrying missiles moved, large crowds were seen cheering and waving national flags.
A footage, posted by a usernamed Iran Headlines, claimed that the missile displayed was an advanced Khorramshahr-4 (Khaibar) ballistic missile, with a 2,000 km range capability. The military display followed Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire extension between the two countries. He has repeatedly stated that Iran’s military strength has been destroyed. However, a recent US intelligence assessment presented by James Adams from the Defense Intelligence Agency contradicts Trump’s claims.
