An Indian woman’s video claiming that she received a US Green Card within two months of marrying an American Army veteran has gone viral. The video, originally shared to highlight the benefits available to US military families, has sparked a heated debate on social media over immigration process.

Couple Talks About US Military Family Benefits

The viral video was shared on Instagram by the account @meghamitch. In the caption, the couple wrote, “I married an American soldier, and these are 3 of the biggest benefits we’ve experienced as a military family. From education to healthcare, military service comes with opportunities that many people don’t know about."

In the video, the couple explains some benefits available to military families in the US. Talking about education, the woman says, “First is free education for life." Her husband replies, “Yes, free, for the entire country. You can go to any school, and they pay you USD 1,000 a month to go to school." The couple then discusses healthcare benefits. The woman also talks about buying a home as another benefit. She says, “Third is buying a house."

However, the controversy began after another video featuring the couple resurfaced online. In that clip, the woman claimed she received her US Green Card within two months of marrying her husband, who is a US Army veteran and has served in two wars. Many users have criticised the woman, accusing her of showing off the advantages of marrying a military veteran. Others have discussed a quick immigration process, with users debating whether her process was faster because of her marriage to a military veteran.

The video was later reposted on X by user cybergreen09, where it received several reactions. One user wrote, “When I was in the Army, I had a girlfriend who was from Argentina (smoking hot). Her husband was an Airforce guy. He married her so she could get a green card. This was 30 years ago." Another user commented, “She’s blatantly bragging about using the guy for a quick green card. They are addicted to bragging to their fellow jeets." A third user added, “What a loser. Decent looking White guy married an ugly fat frumpy jeet auntie. Pathetic."
