US President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying that any future attack on ships in the Strait of Hormuz would trigger a US response against Iranian infrastructure. His threat comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran in the region.

Trump's Fresh Warning To Iran

In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned that Washington would respond to any Iranian attack on ships in the Strait by targeting Iranian infrastructure. He said that if Iran fires at vessels using missiles, rockets, drones or any other weapons, the US would destroy one bridge or power plant in retaliation, including facilities near or inside Tehran.

He wrote, “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

US-Iran Strikes Escalate Across Region

Tensions in West Asia intensified on Wednesday as fresh missile strikes and military operations across the region were reported. Air defence sirens were activated in Jordan’s port city of Aqaba amid ongoing exchanges of attacks between the US and Iran. According to the Jordanian military, four missiles launched during an Iranian strike were intercepted, while two others fell in "uninhabited areas."

US Strikes Iran’s Larak Island

The confrontation has escalated further after reports of a US missile strike on Iran’s Larak Island. Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the strike took place during afternoon, with residents in the area reporting a powerful blast.
