Oppo has confirmed that its upcoming Find X10 Pro Max will be one of the first smartphones to run on MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The phone will also be sold in international markets, although Oppo has not yet shared a timeline for its global release.

The Dimensity 9600 Pro is one of the key highlights of the Find X10 Pro Max. It is based on TSMC’s N2P 2nm process and is aimed at improving performance, graphics and on-device AI while keeping power consumption under control. Oppo has also started revealing more about the phone itself, including its design, colours and camera setup, ahead of its China launch.

Find X10 Pro Max Performance Details

The new MediaTek chip uses an all-big-core CPU design. It has two C2-Ultra cores that can reach speeds of up to 4.55GHz, paired with six performance cores. Each core can be controlled independently, allowing the processor to adjust its performance depending on what the phone is doing.

Oppo says the Dimensity 9600 Pro can deliver a 17 percent improvement in overall CPU performance. The company is also claiming up to 61 percent better CPU multi-core energy efficiency compared with the previous-generation platform.

The GPU has received an upgrade as well. The chipset comes with MediaTek’s G2-Ultra NX GPU, which brings enhanced ray tracing and neural graphics capabilities. Oppo says the GPU can maintain around 27 percent higher performance during sustained heavy workloads.

AI Gets A Major Push

The Dimensity 9600 Pro also puts more emphasis on running AI tasks directly on the device. MediaTek has equipped the chip with two NPUs, with each designed for a different type of workload.

According to Oppo, the high-performance NPU improves LLM prefill performance by 51 percent, while the Super Efficient NPU can increase power efficiency by 40 percent. The company expects the chipset to handle tasks such as large-language-model inference and computational imaging without relying as heavily on cloud processing.

Oppo and MediaTek have also developed a technology called the Laminar Flow Engine specifically for the Find X10 Pro Max. It connects rendering with system scheduling to manage performance and power consumption more effectively. Oppo says the system can help apps open faster and keep content loading smoothly, including when users are rapidly browsing through photos.

Triple 200MP Cameras On The Back

The camera setup is another big talking point. Oppo has shown the Find X10 Pro Max with a large rectangular camera module on the rear. It houses three lenses, while the flash and another sensor sit in a separate section.

The phone will reportedly use three 200-megapixel rear cameras, with Hasselblad also working with Oppo on the camera hardware. The Find X10 Pro Max will further introduce the second-generation Danxia colour system.

Oppo will sell the phone in three colours: Warm Orange, Moon White and Light Titanium.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max Launch Date

The Find X10 Pro Max is set to launch in China on September 22 at 7pm local time, which translates to 4:30pm IST. Oppo has also confirmed that the phone will come with a battery capacity of up to 8,000mAh.
