Rockstar GTA 6 Update: The gaming community has locked in its dates for November 19, 2026, as Rockstar is probably going to drop the biggest gaming title of the decade, obviously assuming that the studio does not face any other major hiccups. So far, we have had two trailers and a few in-game shots, but of course, that is not enough for the fans. Now there are rumours about a third trailer that Rockstar might drop soon, spiralling over the internet, most of which point to unconventional things, but right now, something real might be brewing behind the scenes.

The tech giant Sony has been reaching out to the crowd that still owns a PS4 to upgrade to PS5 if they wish to play Rockstar's latest title, GTA VI.

What Is Sony Trying To Say?

Several PS4 users say they received emails from PlayStation over the weekend nudging them toward the PS5 ahead of the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. The messages reportedly appeared to target players who had added GTA 6 to their PlayStation Store wishlist.

According to screenshots shared online, the email reads: “Grand Theft Auto VI is on your wishlist. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026.” Sony also included a direct link to purchase the console.

Interestingly, a few PS4 players who are still active on GTA 5 also seem to have received similar emails. GTA 6 is not coming to older generation consoles, with Rockstar officially confirming only PS5 and Xbox Series S/X as launch platforms.

This news is also a confirmation that things might be on track as far as game development and its release are concerned, with November 19 as the final date. The game launch has been delayed twice now, but Zelnick, Take-Two's chief, recent comments and this new notification from Sony to PS4 users might be good news.

GTA 6 Launch To Get Marketed Soon?

Sony might be pushing PS4 users to get on a PS5 for a reason, and that could be the fact that the game's marketing could begin soon. Take-Two is also said to have a marketing partnership with Sony for GTA 6, which could explain the recent PlayStation push around the game. Earlier, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had hinted that Rockstar would begin its major launch marketing campaign this summer, and that has only added fuel to the speculation.

As a result, chatter around a possible third GTA 6 trailer, along with pricing and pre-order announcements, has picked up online over the past few weeks. That said, most of the information currently circulating is still based on rumours and leaks, so it’s worth taking those claims with caution. Rockstar is expected to officially share more about the highly anticipated open-world title sometime this summer.

Zelnick has also iterated that Rockstar is preparing the “most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth.” It has also been said that the title would be reasonably priced. Although for now these are just speculations, the excitement is definitely there, as this will be one of the biggest gaming releases of this decade.
