According to Brazilian journalist Brenno Rayol, Neymar celebrated Santos' qualification by directing taunts towards members of the Remo camp. The report claimed the 34-year-old mocked the club's president, coaching staff and players after the match, leading to an intense exchange on the sidelines.

Eyewitnesses alleged that Neymar repeatedly shouted, "Eliminated! Eliminated!" towards Remo president Antonio Carlos Teixeira. The club official later expressed his frustration while speaking to reporters.

"A great campaign [the one from Remo]. Now, feeling of being harmed, Santos doesn't need that," Teixeira said.

The confrontation quickly spread across social media, with footage of the incident drawing millions of views and triggering widespread debate among football fans.

Fans Criticise Neymar's Behaviour

Many supporters criticised Neymar's post-match conduct, describing it as unsportsmanlike and arguing that a player of his experience and stature should have shown greater respect after a knockout victory.

Several fans expressed their disappointment online, with one writing:

"It's definitely one of the most embarrassing career endings I can recall. The fact that it's not even quick but a slow spiral full of embarrassing little incidents like this, makes it even more embarrassing."

Another fan simply posted: "Just retire please..."

Others defended Neymar, suggesting that emotions often run high in knockout fixtures, although criticism remained the dominant reaction across social media.
