Hundreds of Trabzonspor supporters gathered outside Ataturk Airport in Istanbul hours before Salah's arrival. As the 34-year-old emerged from the terminal wearing Trabzonspor's iconic claret and sky-blue colours, fans erupted into loud chants, waving scarves and flags while recording the moment on their phones.

The former Liverpool forward greeted supporters with smiles and waves before making his way through the crowd alongside club officials and security personnel. Videos of the emotional reception have since gone viral, highlighting the excitement surrounding his imminent arrival.

The transfer is expected to be completed after the Egyptian undergoes his medical and finalizes the remaining contractual formalities.

A Landmark Signing For Trabzonspor

Salah's arrival represents a major statement of intent from Trabzonspor as they look to challenge for domestic honours once again. Nicknamed the "Black Sea Storm," the Turkish club has won seven Super Lig titles, with six of those coming between 1976 and 1984.

Their most recent league triumph came in 2022, ending a 38-year wait for the championship. Signing one of world football's biggest stars underlines the club's ambition to establish themselves among Europe's elite once again.

The Egyptian joins an impressive list of former Premier League stars to have represented Trabzonspor, including ex-Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge and former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe.

End Of An Era At Liverpool

Salah leaves Liverpool after establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the club's history. Since arriving from AS Roma in 2017, he has won multiple major trophies, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

In April 2025, he became Liverpool's highest-paid player after signing a reported contract worth ÂŁ400,000 per week, further cementing his legendary status at Anfield.

Now, the Egyptian icon is set to begin a new chapter in Turkey, where expectations will be enormous as Trabzonspor look to build a squad capable of competing for silverware both domestically and in European competitions.
