Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. has once again shown his class beyond the football pitch. Amid his return to action at the FIFA World Cup 2026, the Selecao forward has reportedly donated USD 250,000 towards relief efforts following the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela.

According to a report by Venezuelan news outlet El Sumario, Neymar's contribution will be used for the immediate welfare of the victims, helping affected families with food, clean drinking water, emergency medical supplies, and temporary shelters as rescue and rehabilitation operations continue across the country.

"My heart goes out to the people of Venezuela," Neymar reportedly said while paying tribute to those affected by the tragedy.

A powerful earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter Scale struck northern Venezuela, leaving widespread destruction in its wake. According to official figures, the disaster has claimed more than 4,300 lives, while over 11,000 people have been injured. Thousands of homes and public buildings have collapsed, forcing thousands of people into temporary relief camps.

The tragedy also shook the footballing world after Argentine international Thiago Almada suffered an unimaginable personal loss. Reports confirmed that Almada's wife and two young children were among those killed in the earthquake while visiting family in Venezuela.

Neymar's donation comes at a perfect time as relief agencies continue their search-and-rescue operations, with humanitarian assistance pouring in from several countries.
