East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant are set to renew their historic rivalry as the two Kolkata giants lock horns against each other in the Calcutta Football League 2026-27.

The Kolkata Derby will take place at the Barasat Stadium on Monday, September 7, with kick-off scheduled for 5 PM IST.

The fixture comes just weeks after East Bengal produced a stunning 4-1 victory over Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup final.

Mohun Bagan Look To Bounce Back

The Mariners are expected to field several senior-team players for the Kolkata Derby as they look to amend their heavy Durand Cup defeat.

Sahal Abdul Samad, Liston Colaco and Manvir Singh are among the experienced players expected to feature for Mohun Bagan.

Their presence could boost the Mariners with greater attacking quality and experience against an East Bengal side that outwitted them in the recent derby.

Mohun Bagan's recent CFL record against East Bengal, however, has not been particularly impressive. The Mariners will therefore be hoping that their stronger lineup can help them improve their streak against their neighbours.

East Bengal Have One Eye On ACL Two

East Bengal are not looking to take the Kolkata Derby much seriously with their upcoming AFC Champions League Two campaign in mind.

Antonio Lopez Habas had initially planned to rely heavily on the reserve squad, but several senior players have reportedly been given permission to participate in the derby.

Edmund Lalrindika, Sandeep Mandi and David Lalhlansanga are among the players expected to be play for the Red and Gold Brigade.

East Bengal will begin their ACL Two campaign against Al-Hussein SC on September 16, making squad management an important factor.
