Weather Update: Parts of Delhi-NCR received rain and strong winds on Thursday evening, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing scorching heatwave. The sudden change in weather is expected to bring down temperatures and offer respite to residents who have been battling intense heat conditions over the past several days.

According to a Jagran.com report, Gurugram witnessed intense lightning, with a possibility of rain accompanied by thunder in the region. Meanwhile, Rewari in Haryan experienced a sudden change in weather following a hailstorm, while Narnaul saw a drop in temperature after a severe dust storm swept through the area.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a red nowcast warning for Delhi-NCR and adjoining south Haryana, alerting about intense thunderstorm activity. Following the warning, rain accompanied by strong winds has now lashed several parts of the region. According to reports, wind speeds in some areas reached up to 80 kmph.

Delhi Weather Forecast For Next 3 Days

According to the IMD weather forecast, generally cloudy skies with spells of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds is expected from May 28 to May 31. An orange alert has been issued for Friday as two spells of rain and thunderstorms are expected. During this period, strong winds are likely to reach 60-70 kmph, gusting up to 80 kmph in the first spell.

On May 30, generally cloudy conditions are likely with light rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, accompanied by gusty winds of 40-50 kmph. Similar conditions are expected to continue on May 31, with light rain and thunderstorms and wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph.
