  1. SP uses 'Simple Dimple' slogan to attract women, youth.
  2. Dimple Yadav actively raises issues like education, women's safety.
  3. Strategy aims to broaden SP's voter base for 2027 UP polls.

Jagran Correspondent, Lucknow: With just a few months remaining in the Uttar Pradesh assembly election, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has begun working on its strategy to return to power after a decade. While party chief Akhilesh Yadav remains its leading face, his wife, Dimple Yadav, has also risen to prominence in recent times. As per the experts, the socialist party's strategy in the coming election will be to target the women's and youth's votes.

Dimple Yadav's Rise

The Samajwadi Party has been using the slogan "Simple Dimple" to target the women, youth, and first-time voters in the coming election. While the party already has a strong vote base in the form of the M-Y (Muslim and Yadav) equation, the party is forming new strategies to increase its vote share and seats.

Dimple Yadav has been very active in politics in recent times, often raising issues of education, women's safety, and youth in the parliament. The Mainpuri MP actively participated in the recent Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led students' protest against the paper leaks and other irregularities.

How Can It Help SP?

The visuals of her consulting and helping the injured protesters at the Jantar Mantar were widely circulated on the social media platforms. The Samajwadi Party also tried to highlight her family-oriented and sensitive image, an attempt to appeal to housewives and middle-class women.

As per the experts, Dimple's image has always been that of a calm, gentle, and cultured family woman, and that could help Akhilesh Yadav to appeal to a larger section of voters. The Samajwadi Party was criticized for alleged poor law and order during its tenure between 2012 and 17, pushing the women voters away.

However, with an anti-incumbency factor against the BJP and Dimple Yadav's rise in active politics, the Socialist Party will try to return to power. The assembly election in Uttar Pradesh is likely to be conducted in the early months of 2027.
