Gold Jewellery Worth Rs 10 Lakh Stolen From Karnataka Store; CCTV Gives Shocker After Rat Turns Out To Be 'Thief' | Watch

A strange theft incident has come to light from Karnataka's Tumakuru, where a rat allegedly dragged away diamond-studded gold jewellery worth around Rs 10 lakh from a jewellery store. The unusual incident has been captured on CCTV and the video has gone viral on social media.

Jewellery Went Missing

According to reports, employees at the jewellery store were shocked after several diamond-studded gold ornaments went missing. As there were no signs of forced entry, the staff were puzzled about how the jewellery had gone missing. Suspecting something unusual, the employees checked the CCTV footage before filing a police complaint.

CCTV Shows Rat Dragging Jewellery

To their amazement, the CCTV footage revealed that a rat had dragged the jewellery away, taking one ornament at a time. The video reportedly showed the rodent carrying the pieces from the store to its hiding place.Following the rat's trail, the store staff located its burrow and dug it up to search for the missing ornaments.

The search was successful, and all the missing jewellery was recovered. The recovered items included 10 diamond-studded gold rings and three necklaces, with the total value estimated at around Rs 10 lakh. The video has gone viral on social media, with many users reacting to the incident with humorous comments. Reacting to the video, one user commented, "Why would a rat steal gold jewellery?" Another user called it a "bizarre theft.”

In a separate incident, two men were caught on camera folding their hands and holding their ears to apologise to a deity, just moments before breaking open a donation box, sweeping out the cash, and fleeing in Maharashtra's Nagpur. The incident occurred at the Sheetla Devi Temple at around 2:20 AM on July 28.

CCTV footage from the temple shows two men inside the premises. While one of them is seen holding his ears in an apparent apology before the deity, his accomplice tries to open the lock of the donation box. Following the gesture, the first man kept watch on the surroundings while the second broke open the box. The duo then emptied the cash into a bag and fled the scene.
