Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday, offering relief from humidity. Several areas witnessed strong winds and occasional thunder across Noida and surrounding areas. In view of the changing weather, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and adjoining regions, warning of continuous rainfall.

Yellow Alert For Delhi

According to the IMD’s daily weather bulletin, heavy rain is likely across Delhi-NCR on Friday. The weather department has warned of a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across many areas. Some areas are expected to receive heavy downpours stretching from the afternoon into the night.

Residents Receive Weather Alert

Residents in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh also received weather alerts on their phones, warning of light to heavy rainfall along with occasional lightning.

IMD Weather Update

Earlier in the day, the IMD had stated that several states across the county are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the coming days. The weather department predicted heavy rainfall in multiple states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Forecast For UP

In Uttar Pradesh, a heavy rain alert has been issued for 26 districts, including Agra, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Etah, Etawah, Kannauj, Jalaun, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Hamirpur.
