CJP Protest Highlights: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday accepted the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The President has also directed that Union Minister Pralhad Joshi be given additional charge of the Ministry of Education, alongside his existing portfolio, until further arrangements are made.

Earlier in the day, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced to withdraw its agitation after reaching an agreement with the government on key demands, including compensation for NEET victims’ families and FIR withdrawal-related issues concerning protesters. Announcing the decision after talks with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh during apress conference, CJP National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the discussions resulted in progress on their demands, while further talks on broader education and exam reforms will continue.

Ranka said, "We had demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of NEET victims. The government has agreed to this, stating that an honorary compensation will be given to those families under whatever rules and regulations allow. Apart from this, we also placed a five-point demand charter before the government, which talked about broader educational reforms and exam reforms."

He added, "We will meet the government again in about four weeks regarding that demand charter so that we can work together on broader reforms. If all these demands are agreeable to the government, then we would also like to withdraw the agitation."

The development comes after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday tendered his resignation to PM Modi. In a social media post, Pradhan said he submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Modi, saying that he chose to step down to prevent “anti-national forces" from spreading confusion and taking advantage of the situation.

Reacting to the development, CJP Founder, Abhijeet Dipke said, "Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. And this resignation is proof that if you people are not afraid, if you people do not bow down to this government, then we can take the resignation of anyone."

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that entry gates at all metro stations across the Delhi Metro network are now open.

On the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra says, "...We in the Congress Party have tried our best to support them in the strongest way possible. Rahul Gandhi has been speaking about the issue of paper leaks and examination reforms for a long time. I think it has been more than two or three years that he has consistently raised this issue. I also want to compliment him because he raised this issue and inspired the rest of us in the party, the NSUI, and the Youth Congress not only to support the students but also to build a movement across the country for students' rights and for reform of our education system. I believe this is only the beginning, but I am truly, truly happy. I became a little emotional when I heard this news because, many times over the last 10 or 12 years, I have asked myself: When are our young people going to wake up? Look at what is being done to our country. The RSS is filling the entire education system, every post, every vice-chancellor's position. The ideology of our forefathers is being undermined. Force is being used against young people and against anyone who raises their voice in protest. Today, I am a very happy person because the youth of our country has spoken, and nobody will ever dare to silence their voices"
