Anna Hazare Writes To PM Modi

According to news agency ANI report, Hazare has expressed anguish over the violence that broke out during the demonstrations. "In a democracy, dialogue is always a better path than conflict... Listening patiently to the people, creating an atmosphere of trust, and finding solutions through positive dialogue is the real test of democracy. Our country is the inheritor of Mahatma Gandhi's ideals of satyagraha and the democratic values established by the Constitution," read the letter.

He further highlighted systemic failures surrounding the NEE-UG examination, student distress, and the forceful handling of activist Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike. He called the police action and violence in Delhi "extremely painful.” He backed the 25-day agitation by students and parents demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Urges Talks With Students

He stressed that ensuring accountability at the highest level, including seeking a minister's resignation, would strengthen the government's functioning and send a strong message across departments without weakening its authority. Hazare further urged PM Modi to demonstrate restraint, sensitivity, and tolerance to restore public trust and uphold India's constitutional principles.

Meanwhile, addressing the protesters on Wednesday, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the agitation would continue until their demands are met, and Union Education Minister resigns. "We won't call off our protest until our demands are met and Dharmendra Pradhan resigns...We won't let Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike go in vain," Dipke said, as reported by news agency PTI.
