A tense situation broke out on Thursday at the Civic Center in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam after a severed cow’s head and other remains were discovered. The incident triggered a strong reaction from members of Hindu organisations and cow protection groups, who immediately gathered at the spot.
Cow Remains Found At Civic Center
In protest, the activists placed the severed head on the road and staged a blockade, disrupting traffic and creating chaos in the area. According to Naidunia report, even after nearly two hours, no Municipal Corporation official had reached the spot, which further escalated the protesters’ anger. Office-bearers of Hindu organisations said they had been informed about the discovery of the “Gau Mata” remains, but the scene they encountered after reaching the spot left them deeply shaken.
They asserted that these were not merely scattered remains, but the severed upper half of a cow's body. The activists alleged that this marks the second such incident of its kind to occur in Ratlam. They claimed that on every occasion, the administration tries to defuse the situation by offering assurances but fails to take any concrete action.
Activists Demand Action
They also alleged that activists associated with the cow protection movement are facing continuous death threats and intimidation. The protesters further stated that their agitation would continue until the complete remains of the cow were recovered, and strict action was taken against the accused. They said that the police had failed to take effective action, despite a formal complaint.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police personnel were deployed to the spot. While officials attempted to pacify the protesting groups and restore order in the area, the situation still remains tense.
