Veteran actor Bharat Kapoor passed away at the age of 80, marking the end of a long and respected career in Indian entertainment. Known for his strong presence in films, television, and theatre, he built a reputation as a dependable character actor. His contribution across decades made him a familiar face for audiences, and his demise has left the industry remembering his impactful work.

Veteran Actor Bharat Kapoor's Demise And Final Rites

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news and expressed sadness over the loss. Bharat Kapoor breathed his last on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Sion Hospital in Mumbai. He reportedly passed away at 3:30 PM after battling health issues for a few days. As per the Times of India report, his last rites were performed the same day at 6:30 PM in the presence of close family and friends.

Actor Avtar Gill also shared that Kapoor had been unwell and his condition worsened due to multiple organ failure. Many in the industry remembered him as a kind and dedicated artist.

Bharat Kapoor started his acting journey in the early 1970s. Over time, he built a steady career that lasted nearly four decades. He became known for his supporting roles, especially as villains and authoritative characters.
