As per the Indian Express, there have been protests at Usilampatti in the Madurai district. People from three villages, namely Papapatti, Pagathevanpatti, and Peyampatti, have joined hands in protesting against the movie. There have been shouts of protest against the filmmakers and criticism of some scenes. These protests reflected increasing frustration amongst the local people over misrepresentation in the film.
Reason Behind Jan Nayagan Controversy
Villagers claimed that Jana Nayagan includes scenes that wrongly depict them. These scenes are not true representations of their community, as the scenes have been twisted and presented incorrectly. This has caused a lot of damage to the sentiments of the villagers as well as their reputation. They demand an apology for this from the filmmakers and Vijay.
