Vicky Kaushal-starrer Mahavatar is one of the highly-anticipated movies. The upcoming mythological movie is once again in buzz, this time for its leading lady. If the reports are to be believed, Shraddha Kapoor will take on the lead role alongside Vicky Kaushal in Mahavatar. While an official confirmation is still awaited, reports indicate that the actress may be in talks with the makers.
Mid-day has quoted a source saying, "Shraddha fits the brief perfectly. The team was keen on someone who brings star value and presence. Plus, the Vicky-Shraddha pairing will be fresh, and the makers are confident this combination will resonate with the audience."
Vicky Kaushal announced Mahavatar in 2024. The actor shared first look from the movie on his Instagram handle. He wrote, "Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas – Christmas 2026!"
For his role, Kaushal will undergo a major physical tranformation. The source told Mid-day, "The actor cannot begin his physical prep as he is currently shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, in which he sports an athletic look. For Mahavatar, he will need to build a heavy frame like that of a wrestler, complete with a rugged look and long, matted hair. After Love & War reaches the finish line in April, the actor will adopt a new diet plan and workout regime to attain the required look."
