Ranveer Singh has raised the bar with his performance in Dhurandhar. Opening up about his character for the first time, the actor shed light on the emotional weight and complexity the role carries, describing it as a deeply immersive experience. The Aditya Dhar directorial is already being seen as a significant milestone in his career, with the response confirming that Singh delivered one of his finest performances yet.

In the past, Ranveer Singh's character as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was widely regarded as his most intense role, one that he said took a personal toll on him. Ranveer Singh said, "This character has been way more challenging for me as an artist; it has taken so much more out of me. I have had to go deep and give it 300 percent; it has been very demanding."

In case you were not aware, Ranveer Singh discussed his preparation for Khilji in multiple interviews back in 2019, following the enormous success of Padmaavat. He disclosed that he spent 21 days in complete isolation at his home in Goregaon to prepare for his role as Alauddin Khilji. He explained that he needed this time to fully immerse himself in the character because he could not naturally relate to Khilji’s manipulative nature, greed, or ambition. He found it necessary to draw upon his own dark experiences to understand the role, as he did not share the character's worldview.
