Bobby Deol's Bandar To Clash With Yash's Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown Ups; Check New Release Date

Bandar Release Date India: Bobby Deol plays the lead in Bandar, which is directed by the critically acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. This film marks the first-ever collaboration between Deol and Kashyap. On June 5, 2026, it will be released in theatres across the globe. Bandar will debut in theatres one day after Yash's film Toxic, which is directed by Geetu Mohandas.

Bandar made its world premiere in the Special Presentation section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival in 2025.  Bobby Deol plays a fading TV star named Sabar in Bandar (Monkey in a Cage), who is placed under judicial detention after being accused of rape by his ex-girlfriend. This intense drama also features Sanya Malhotra, Raj B Shetty, Jitendra Joshi, Sapna Pabbi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Riddhi Sen, Saba Azad, and Nagesh Bhosle in significant roles.

Bandar examines the complicated fallout from #MeToo accusations in India's digital age. The plot centres on Samar, a fading television star whose popularity is slipping away from him when he cuts off all communication with his ex-girlfriend Gayatri, who accuses him of rape. He gets arrested as a result of the accusation, and the court system is more focused on keeping him in jail than on pursuing justice.

Zee Studios is supporting the film, which is produced by Nikhil Dwivedi. Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, who have written critically praised films including Paatal Lok, Kohrra, and Udta Punjab, are the film's writers. Kohrra 2, which was recently helmed by Sudip Sharma, has received positive reviews from critics. Bandar is positioned to be one of the most anticipated theatrical releases in 2026 thanks to a strong cast and a professional crew.

Meanwhile, Bobby Deol will be seen in Shiv Rawail's action film Alpha, which stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. In addition, he will star in H Vinoth's Tamil action drama Jana Nayagan. Anurag Kashyap, on the other hand, has a lot on his plate. The director is now working on a follow-up to his most recent feature, Nishaanchi Part 2. Aaishvary Thackeray, Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub play important roles in the movie.
