Ranveer Singh apologised in court for the issue surrounding his imitation of from Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara: Chapter 1. The Dhurandhar actor offered an unconditional apologies in a revised affidavit submitted to the Karnataka High Court. His petition to have the FIR against him quashed was heard by Justice M Nagaprasanna's bench, according to Bar And Bench. This FIR was filed after Ranveer Singh also made offensive comments about a temple deity while imitating a character at a function last year.

Ranveer Singh's representative, advocate Sajjan Poovayya told the court that the actor promised to pay his respects by going to the Chamundeshwari temple. Orally, the court stated that the actor's visit to the temple within four weeks would be documented in the decree. "We will certainly administer a reprimand," the court declared.

The Karnataka High Court was informed on behalf of the complainant that this issue is intricately linked to religious beliefs and is not just a legal disagreement. In response, the court noted that this is precisely the reason why the FIR has not yet been given a stay. In the meantime, Ranveer Singh's legal team argued that he respects religious beliefs. It was observed that the case's merits were not being disputed for just this reason. The court said at the end of the proceedings that it would take the filed affidavit on record and dismiss the petition.
