Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra along with Ranbir Kapoor recently took a plane to the United States to disclose the teaser for Nitesh Tiwari's mythlogical epic before it was released in India. This move sparked a heated debate on social media, with many people questioning the logic behind the overseas announcement. The producer has now responded to the backlash by urging people to avoid being divided.
Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh unveiled Ramayana's teaser on Thursday in Mumbai, giving viewers their first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. According to India Today, he talked about the movie after it was unveiled, explaining why the teaser for Ramayana was shown in Los Angeles and New York before it was released in India.
Namit Malhotra said, "Don’t divide. This is not the time to be divisive. The Indian in the America are thanking and appreciating (us for having an event in the US), you need to understand the emotion of the Indian people over there."

Namita Malhotra emphasised the worldwide scope of the movie. "There are Indians all over the world. We should not be divisive; that’s where we go wrong on Ramayana. There’s no division, it’s one world, one Ramayana and one Rama. The idea is to show it to the entire world. How do we bring awareness? Every Indian knows it (about Ramayana)."
Namit expressed his desire to ensure "that everybody should know about Ramayana. It’s harder for us in the middle of the shoot to stop work and go and meet people and spread awareness; we are not selling tickets." He went on to say that he wanted to pass on Ramayana throughout the world.
