The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has removed MP Raghav Chadha as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, appointing Ashok Mittal as his replacement in a surprise move. Reacting to the decision, Chadha shared a video on social media, stating that he is “silenced, not defeated,” followed by another clip showcasing the issues he raised in Parliament. Meanwhile, his sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra showed her support in the comments. Chadha is married to actor Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka’s cousin.
In his latest post, Raghav Chadha shared a montage highlighting key issues he has raised in Parliament across sessions, including the gap between education and employment, 'one nation, one medical treatment', wage indexation, and the demand for a Bharat Ratna for Bhagat Singh. He compiled these moments into an Instagram reel, captioned only with an Indian flag emoji, conveying a subtle yet pointed message amid the ongoing political row.
Priyanka Chopra reacted to the post with heart-eyes, applause, and clapping emojis, signaling her support for Raghav Chadha.

Raghav Chadha issued his first remarks after being dropped as Rajya Sabha deputy leader, questioning in a video on X whether raising public interest issues in Parliament had become a 'crime'. He has been replaced by Ashok Mittal, an industrialist-turned-lawmaker and AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. Tensions had reportedly been building within the Aam Aadmi Party in recent months, as Chadha stayed away from key party positions and reactions to major political developments.

While he defended himself by highlighting the issues he raised in Parliament, some party leaders accused him of focusing on 'soft PR' rather than core political battles.
The party termed the move as part of internal restructuring, but the BJP alleged it stemmed from Chadha distancing himself from Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, Khushboo Patani, sister of actor Disha Patani, also backed Chadha, expressing confidence that he could form his own party in the future and stating she would support his vision for the country.
