The trailer of Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, has finally been released, building excitement around the much-anticipated film. The makers also announced a new release date, shifting it from March 19 to April 10, a move that initially disappointed fans but has now sparked renewed interest following the trailer drop. Offering a gripping glimpse into its intense narrative, Dacoit revolves around a man who is wrongly convicted and imprisoned. After escaping, he returns driven by revenge, determined to confront the woman who betrayed him — a betrayal that changed his life forever.
However, the narrative takes a complex turn as the protagonist finds himself torn between seeking revenge and protecting the very woman who betrayed him, along with her husband. What follows is an intense mix of emotional turmoil and crime, with secrets, shifting loyalties and moral dilemmas pulling all the characters into a volatile situation where every decision has consequences.
Interestingly, the film was initially announced with Shruti Haasan as the female lead. However, she later exited the project due to reported creative differences, after which Mrunal Thakur stepped in to take over the role.
Recently, Mrunal Thakur got real about language differences and genre shifts during the trailer launch event of her upcoming film, Dacoit, co-starring Adivi Sesh. Having worked across Hindi and Telugu films, the actress expressed strong belief that genre trumps language, and certain details add to the differences while shooting.

"Language doesn't matter. What matters is the genre of the movie. And I have realized that the hold and the pregnant pauses between each dialogue are so important," Mrunal stated and highlights the differences that came with Love Sonia and Sita Ramam, both films hailing from contrasting genres.
The actress mentioned the nuance that comes with an action film like Dacoit. "So, there are certain scenes where there is a pause. But, the genre plays a very, very important role in this," she said. "This is the first time, in fact, I had to take help from Adivi Sesh. Because, there are tricks on how to stand in a certain position. If you have to look vulnerable, you suddenly slouch. These details play a very important role," she added.
