New Mom Patralekhaa Says She Was Unsure About Becoming A Mother

Patralekhaa has openly discussed how her views on motherhood have changed over time. The actor-producer disclosed that she had doubts about starting a family at one point. She acknowledged that she "kept contemplating" the possibility of having children. Patralekhaa added that throughout time, her viewpoint gradually evolved. She emphasised that being a mother was a very personal journey rather than an abrupt decision.

Patralekhaa openly acknowledged in an interview with IANS that she had previously been hesitant to embrace parenting. "I was always contemplating, maybe I don’t want to become a mother, maybe not, you know, but now just having my little one around is beautiful. I think I am my best version right now."

Patralekhaa ventured into production with her film Toaster, which also stars Rajkummar Rao, her husband. Talking about it, she shared, "Yes, becoming a producer is great and it’s a difficult job. But the most important thing that’s happened to me in my life is becoming a mother. And it’s the most fulfilling experience."

Patralekhaa, Rajkummar Rao Welcome Baby Girl

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar entered a new stage of their lives after welcoming their first child, a baby girl, in November 2025. The couple later disclosed their daughter's name, which is Parvati Paul Rao.

Patralekhaa made her first public appearance since her pregnancy, and the videos have been going viral. She was seen dodging the photographers and seemed clearly uncomfortable in the footage. The actor called out body-shaming remarks made by paparazzi pages on Friday and urged them to show kindness.

Patralekhaa shared a lengthy note on her Instagram stories, which read - "Pap pages! What’s happened to me!? is that I have just given birth. Yes I have gained the weight, which seems like an unnatural phenomenon to you all. I have not sat and eaten a mountain, I just delivered a baby and produced two films simultaneously which are not easy jobs. If I could I would not be this way. But that’s how my body has reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake please learn to be a little kind (sic)."

Over the years, Patralekhaa has gradually made a name for herself in the film industry by giving strong performances in movies like CityLights and Phule. The actor turned producer for Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra-starrer Toaster. The film, directed by Vivek Daschaudary, also stars Archana Puran Singh, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Abhishek Banerjee, and others. On April 15, the dark comedic thriller debuted on Netflix.
