Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, is now running in theatres. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles. Bhooth Bangla received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, and has earned Rs 111.40 crore to rank the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of 2026 as well as the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (Prime Video)
Directed by Priyadarshan and produced by T-Series, the 2007 psychological horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a remake of the 1993 Malayalam classic Manichitrathazhu, which was inspired by a 19th-century tragedy in Travancore. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja and Ameesha Patel, the film features a popular soundtrack by Pritam and a background score by Ranjit Barot.
Munjya (JioHotstar)
The third installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, Munjya (2024) is a sleeper hit directed by Aditya Sarpotdar that blends Indian folklore with cutting-edge CGI. Starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari, the film grossed Rs 132.13 crore against a Rs 30 crore budget, becoming the eighth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year and winning Best Special Effects at the 70th Filmfare Awards.
