South Korea President Lee Jae-myung praised the inspiring journey of Sriya Lenka, an Indian artist who became a Kpop star in a Korean girl band Blackswan during his recent visit to India. Speaking at a special banquet hosted by Droupadi Murmu, he highlighted how culture connects nations and dreams. His words brought attention to Sriya’s achievement and the growing bond between India and South Korea.

The South Korean President attended a formal dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he thanked the Indian President and people for their warm welcome. The event was attended by key leaders, including Narendra Modi, C P Radhakrishnan, and S. Jaishankar, along with other dignitaries.

In his speech, Lee spoke about Sriya, a 22-year-old from Odisha, who made history in May 2022. She became India’s first K-pop star after being selected for the girl group Blackswan. She earned her place through a tough global audition process, showing determination and talent.

Culture Connects Nations

Lee said, “The power of culture transcends boundaries and connects dreams.” He added that Sriya returned to India to share the dream she built in Korea, showing how cultural exchange can inspire people across countries. Blackswan debuted in 2020 and is managed by DR Music. The group includes members like Youngheun, Fatou, Judy, and Leia. Sriya joined the group on May 26, 2022, marking a proud moment for India in the global music scene
